For 75 years, Mayo dreamed of winning Sam Maguire again. In 2026, the dream finally became a reality.
A perfect souvenir of an incredible season, Never Stop Dreaming tells the compelling story of the year when Mayo went all the way – from the low expectations at the start of 2026, through the twists and turns of the championship, to that unforgettable All-Ireland final victory over Kerry.
Written by two experienced Mayo GAA journalists, Anthony Hennigan and Edwin McGreal, who have each reported on Mayo in ten All-Ireland finals, the book follows Mayo every step of the way. The authors were there throughout the season, at the games, talking to players and supporters, analysing the football and capturing the mood in a year where few expected Mayo to finally claim their Holy Grail.
But this is more than a football story. It is the story of a year that brought Mayo people together, at home and around the world. It captures the emotion, the characters, the football and the extraordinary celebrations that followed, with award-winning Mayo photographer Michael McLaughlin bringing the history and the homecomings to life through an exclusive collection of images from special events across the county, alongside striking photographs from the games by Inpho.
Published by Mayo Books Press, Never Stop Dreaming is a lasting record and celebration of the year Mayo finally realised their great dream and the unforgettable joy that victory brought to Mayo people everywhere.
The book is proudly supporting Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation’s Sunflower Children’s Hospice project in Castlebar.
